My child is in treatment now

Your child is somewhere else, and the house is quieter than it has been in a long time. Maybe you feel relief, and then guilty about the relief. You get the weekly call and the updates, and you may be wondering what you’re supposed to be doing besides waiting. This is the time to do your part. Your child is getting a lot of help right now. You’re getting very little, and you’re the one they come home to. We use these months to look honestly at what was happening at home, get clear on how you want to lead when they return, and build a plan that works alongside their treatment team.
