My adult child isn’t launching

Your son or daughter is 20, or 25, or older. They live with you, or they live on your money. They’re an adult on paper and you can’t make them do anything, but every time you think about stepping back it feels like abandoning them. There may be a diagnosis, a history of treatment, or just years of things not quite working. Most parents in this spot have been offered two choices: keep rescuing or cut them off. There is a lot of room between those two. We work out what kind of help moves your child toward a life of their own, how to stop the kind that keeps them stuck, and how to do it while staying someone they can always come back to.
